The Coat Hook

On recent trip to the East Side, I found myself walking past a restaurant on a choice corner downtown. There was a noticeable lack of clutter in the space. I saw no tables and chairs. Rather, there was a stand-up bar facing the hood. Under the counter of the bar were mounted double coat hooks, as efficient a way of managing parka and side bag as I can imagine.

The restaurant is across the street and a block or so north of a long-established local bicycle dealer. It struck me that the street side door of the store opened onto a long flight of stairs-kamikaze marketing according to the old way of thinking, but spot on for the fit -30-
