Rationing Pillows

For simplicity, all the pillows in the house are standard bed-sized. They're the best quality I can find. I would not hesitate to spend major money on covers for them if I thought the interior scheme demanded it.

Pillow management is one of the awkward areas in housekeeping. Handling them is hard on the hands, they're always slightly in the way, and it takes a measurable interval of fluffing and gentle bashing to get them to look right.

I like a generous collection of pillows on a bed or sofa, but I don't want to manage the inventory it would take to furnish each piece that we use. I chose one simple pillow case design that is equally suitable for sleeping or daytime use, set up the beds in luxury, and simply tote pillows here and there as required.
